Juillet 2018

A lovely gite, it has all that is needed. Excellent location as well. Our favourite places were Pointe de la Torche, Sainte-Marine & Pont l’Abbé itself. We were very lucky to be here when the Embroidery festival was on 15 July for the procession & that was both entertaining & fascinating. In Pont l’Abbé we would recommend L’Essential & the Fief for good meals (though not cheap, the food was excellent) & the Chaumine for crepes. For pubs/bars The Marine & Le Mars were both liked by my husband. Thursday morning market is also a must. Thanks to Alice for all her help.

August 2018

We’ve had a fantastic couple of weeks here in Pont l’Abbé. We enjoyed swimming at Lesconil, Lodonnec & Plage de Kermor & bodyboader at La Torche. Quimper was nice for a visit as was Concarneau, a boat ride away from the lovely Beg Meil. We have eaten far too many delicious pastries & crêpes too. Thank you for a beautiful base for our adventure in Pays Bigouden! We want to come again!

September 2018

We’ve had a very enjoyable stay in Pont l’Abbé. Highlights have been the Musée des Beaux Arts in Quimper; the beautiful medieval chapels of Beuzec & Notre-Dame de Tronoën; coastal walks between St Guénolé & Pointe de la Torche as well as between Pointe de St Oual et La Palud du Cosquer. And a wonderful meal at Le Cocagne. The Thursday market at Pont l’Abbé was also a delight. Special thanks to Alice for all her help.

David Newman – September 2017

We enjoyed staying at this little gite and revisiting all the places that we love in Brittany – especially Concarneau which has special memories for us. The waves at Pointe de la Torche were magnificient – sometimes bad weather has its compensations! There is always something new to discover so we look forward to come back.

Delia Hoyle – August 2017

Enjoyed everything cycling, beaches, food, wine and the total relaxed atmosphere provided by beautiful Bretagne. This little gite has been a real home for the week. Thank you.

Samuel Lane – August 2017

We have really enjoyed our stay here and have been impressed with this lovely, well equipped cottage. The double bed is very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed for many evenings in with our baby and the garden was perfect for brekkie and lunch!

Martin Macdonald – July 2017

Have had a lovely time exploring the area – so much to see and do! We especially enjoyed the market in Pont l’Abbe, the museum in Quimper and of course the many fantastic beaches! The cottage is lovely, so homely and the beds are very comfortable. We enjoyed sitting in the garden and listening to the sound of the Breton pipes. Thank you Alice.

Anthony Webb – June 2017

We have enjoyed our stay in Pont l’Abbe. The gite is well equipped and comfortable. Alice is very helpful and welcoming. The location is ideal for discovering South Finistere. We have been blessed with wonderfully warm dry weather and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Jeremy Lamey – June 2017

What an extremely comfortable stay in a well-appointed gite. Have really enjoyed this part of Brittany. Pointe de la Torche is a must especially if you get high winds. Alice has been very helpful and we can honestly say we have yet to meet a better agent.

Mrs Christine Konig October 2016

Thank you for a wonderful holiday. Everything perfect in this charming gite. Immaculately clean. Much exploring, delicious food, sitting reading in the garden and unexpected wonderfully sunny weather. How lucky we were! A delightful area of France and so peaceful at this time of year. Our thanks to Gill for her help.

Mr Michael Hicks September 2016

The gite was equipped with everything we needed. Comfortable bed, after long day of walking, nice hot shower, and friendly helpful people where we struggled with our “French”. Would certainly recommend the area and the gite.

Mrs Delia Hoyle August 2016

Thank you for sharing your lovely gite. Very homely and great welcome from Gill. We have had fantastic weather, sun everyday and able to walk to the bakery each day for bread and croissants ! The lady in the bakery was great with Ben (6 years old). Fantastic run by the river. Hopefully will see you again.

Mrs Amanda Walczak August 2016

We have had a lovely week in your comfortable and well equipped gite. The gite is well situated and quiet and the blackout velux blinds ensured great nights sleep. We have eaten outside most of the time, having a couple of barbecues.

Mrs Jillia Suffield July 2016

We’ve had a wonderful week in this lovely gite. Though the weather has been mixed, we’ve still had pleasant days at the beach, as well as days out in Concarneau, Quimper and Penmare. The cottage itself has made an ideal base for the past week and we have all enjoyed breakfast in the garden and evenings watching our favourite TV series ‘Merlin’ with a bar of Milka ! We would love to come back in the future and thank you to Gill for her warm welcome.

Dr Geoffrey Teece July 2016

Thank you for a lovely week in your beautiful cottage. It’s been the best we’ve stayed in over 20 years of visiting Brittany. We have had great weather so plenty of visits to beach. We would certainly love to stay here again. We love the garden too.

Mrs Christine Tucker June 2016

One of the best cottages we have stayed in. Well equipped and comfortable. Lovely area to visit, plenty to see and do. We took the bus to Quimper, only 2 euros each way. A great way to visit Quimper, no worries about parking and loads of buses each way.

Miss Marny Thompson September 2015

Good and well equipped accommodation (even a kettle). Warm welcome by English speaker who was very helpful. Accommodation out of centre so quiet and easy parking.

Mr Peter Lewis August 2015

This accommodation was perfect for a family of 4 with the main bedroom downstairs adjacent to the bathroom and two single beds with adjacent toilet upstairs. The kitchen was very well equipped, including washing machine and dishwasher. Television with satellite (albeit in French) and WiFi included. Outside there is a small patio with table/chairs and a small garden. Overall, we could not have asked for more.

Mr Mark Coombe August 2015

We have all really enjoyed our 2 week stay in Pont L’Abbe. We have had an excellent time exploring nearby beaches and towns, buying the delicious patisseries and bakeries, and relaxing in the garden. Our favorite beaches were Ile Tudy and Benodet. Pointe de Torche is great for watching the surfers. Pont l’Abbe itself is a lovely place. We enjoyed the Thursday market. The biscuiterie is also very nice. We had fun watching the pastry chef making the local cake – kouign Amann. We’ve all loved the cottage and the garden. It’s been so nice to be able to have breakfast, lunches and dinners outside in the sun. We would definitely return to this area in the future !

Mrs Clare Dodds July 2015

We have had a fantastic week. We love the gite and the area. Particularly liked the beach at Ile Tudy and buying such fresh fish at Loctudy. Been to many markets but Concarneau was the best (Friday). The gite was very welcoming.

Mr Martin Welsh June 2015

We have had a great holiday. The gite is comfortable and has everything needed. The garden has been wonderful as we have had great weather. Much better than we really expected ! We went to Quimper on the bus which saved the hassle of finding a parking space. All in all, we have had a fabulous time here from our welcome from Gill to a lovely meal on the last night.

Mr Lincoln Greens – June 2014

Excellent gite with lovely shady garden. Weather was superb so able to enjoy this wonderful area again. The best of holidays

Mrs King – Aug 2014

Lovely house and perfect garden for small children. Great area to explore and fabulous beaches. Great holiday.

Mr & Mrs Davison – Sept 14

Gite is well placed to visit lots of beaches and places of interest such as Concarneau, Quimper, Lesconil and Le Guilvinec which is good around 4.30-5pm to watch fishing boats come into port. The market in Pont l’Abbé on Thursday is also very good.

Trevethicks September 2013

Well appointed cottage, clean with well equipped kitchen and lovely use of lighting. Pont l’Abbé is a lovely town, people are friendly and engaging. Overall impression – Lovely place to stay.

Ashley family September 2013

Super gite, well appointed. We loved the nearby towns of Loctudy, Ile Tudy and Benodet for kids swimming. We also really enjoyed the markets and the boulangeries!! Great quiet gite. We are bound to return.

The Woods September 2013

A nice conversion.

Hatcher family August 2013

We have had a great couple of weeks in this lovely gite which is well located. A trip to Quimper and visits to the local swimming pool were good for the few bad weather days but we spent most other days at the beach and also enjoyed some lovely cycle rides around Pont l’Abbé

Cook family July 2013

We were delighted with this charming gite, the best we have had so far. Light, airy and beautifully finished. At Ile Tudy we sipped cocktails and watched the sun go down after walking along the beach exploring rock pools. The local pool kept our children happy many mornings of our stay with its water slide and jacuzzi!
